My Afternoon
At long last! After school I hopped a bus and took it straight up to B.Y Fusion Cafe on McMillan Street, and indulged myself in an almond milk bubble tea (my favorite) and pot stickers. $10.22 well spent! The cafe is tiny and painted bright yellow, and both of the ladies who worked there had thick accents and were speaking a language I didn't recognize. One of them had a little daughter, maybe 4 or 5 years old, who was running around the shop with the typical little pageboy bob with straight across bangs. That same woman, I found out, used to live in the Bay Area, so we chatted about that for a while. I've missed Asian culture SO MUCH, and this place is very Asian; it was so nice to be there and even almost felt like being home for a little bit. Fusion is THE new hangout, as far as I'm concerned. The tea's about three dollars a pop, so not too bad, relatively-speaking...but I am on a tight budget. Good thing it's a 20-minute walk uphill then, or else I'd be in there every day!
While I was happily chewing on tapioca balls, I finally got started on Cynthia Lennon's book John. So far, very good!
After that I went home and put my hair up for the first time in a year. (I think it looks quite nice, as well.) A year tomorrow, to be exact. Why does this matter so much?, you might ask. Well, a year ago tomorrow I was in Nashville on Christmas break and the girls and I were attending "the punk rock party," thanks to, surprisingly, Charlie Sheen. And you may recall what happened at that party. ROTH!!! I was thinking tonight, and I realized (sad fact) that I only stand by two of my many make-outs if we're basing it on physical attractiveness alone. Anyway, Roth is number one. Really, really number one. I still swoon at just the mere thought of the chap. Interestingly, Adam Rose & Co. are throwing the usual Saturday party tomorrow, which I will most likely attend. Perhaps the hair and the one-year anniversary of Roth will combine forces with the party and produce another legendary snog with a subculture king? Okay, okay, this is 16th Street, and Covington doesn't exactly have a Stoop. But I can dream, right?
For tonight I'm continuing my Asian Movie Marathon and possibly going to Vatica band practice. Tomorrow there's lunch with m'cousin and the parteh, Sunday I'm off to the art museum, and a new psych is on Monday. (I know, I'm one of the only people on the planet that gets excited about psych appointments, but it's true.) Monday also happens to be Martin Luther King Day. *wink* It looks like it's going to be a good weekend.
